Lymphoma is divided into two main types:

1. HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

2. NON HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

@ Hodgkin’s lymphoma always presents as generalized lymphadenopathy. It means a group of lymph nodes are enlarged very silently.

@ Hepato-spleenomegaly, which are smooth and firm with round borders and causes abdominal pain.

@ Para-aortic nodes takes place within the umbilical region, more on the left side than at right side.

@ Intermittent fever is usually seen. 

@ Skin rashes are also sometimes appears.

@ Symptoms like asthma exist in respiratory system.

Its clinical features are:

1. Being retroperitoneal, the mass doesn't fall forward on knee elbow position.
2. Pain in bones occur thanks to secondary deposits, especially within the vertebrae.
3. Superior vein and caval obstruction reported.
4. Enlarged mediastinal nodes. 

Lab Investigations for Hodgkin’s lymphoma 

1. CBC

Complete blood picture (CBC) is to check for leukemia.

2. Creatinine 

Creatinine indicate uretral obstruction or thanks to the direct involvement of kidneys.

3. Blood urea

Blood urea associated with uretral obstruction or associate direct engage with kidneys.

4. Chest X-RAY

Lumph nodes also appears in x ray.

NON-HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA

3. Lymphoblastic lymphoma found in male adults, adolescents and young.
4. Follicular lymphoma is diagnosised usually in adult age in and mostly occurs in males.

VIRUSES

Viruses are also responsible for lymphoma.

• RNA virus
• HIV (human immuno deficiency virus) which is responsible for AIDS. HIV patients have a risk of  high grade B cell lymphoma.

• DNA virus
• Barr virus can  produce Burkitt’s lymphoma.

Bactaria

Some kinds of bacteria have also the ability to increasing the risk of lymphoma.

H.pylori 

H. Pylori is an MALT type Immuno deficiency bacteria which causes ulcers in digestive system but sometimes it also involves in lymphoma.
